Bill Wilson

Having been influenced by my father; a professional portrait painter, I decided to study art. I attended The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Pa. from 1974-79, where I won a traveling scholarship to Europe. Though I was a drawing and painting major, my first love had always been sculpture and architectural details.

After graduating I returned home to Birmingham, Alabama, where I started working as a mural painter and teacher in schools under a government grant program called CETA. After the grant ended I started working for a commercial casework company, working in the shop and installing cabinets and trim in the field. That was the beginning of my career in architectural millwork.

Now for almost 30 years I have been estimating, bidding, managing and designing high-end interior and exterior architectural millwork. It has been a privilege to work with so many talented people on some truly magnificent projects. This business never gets old. It’s involves team work and exposes you to almost all aspects of construction. It continues to challenge and inspire my imagination and provides me with the opportunity for doing architectural drawings.

Recently married and relocated to Athens, Georgia. I hope to develop new relationships where I can use my experience to help customers achieve the aesthetics they seek in the fine art of architectural millwork.

When not working I enjoy being with family, traveling, cooking, music, college football and to- many other things I can’t afford and don’t have time to do. Most of all I thank God for all he has given me.
